RM-650 Recharge Module
Reconnecting a discharged string back to the bus can be time consuming and expensive. And when done incorrectly, the huge in-rush of current can create dangerous and destructive arcs. The Alber RM-650 Recharge Module is the first device that lets you recharge a discharged string using the existing on-line charger.
The RM-650 incorporates a current limiting circuit that you can operate in manual or automatic mode to facilitate the recharging of a discharged battery. The unit applies a resistance across a disconnect switch and limits current to 700 amps. Typical maximum current is 650 amps. When the battery voltage is close to the bus voltage (within approx. 0.5 volts), the string can be safely connected back to the bus.
